Instructions for Your Letters of Recommendation

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED A SECONDARY SCHOOL REPORT AND/OR A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR COLLEGE ADMISSION AND/OR SCHOLARSHIP. Read everything before you begin, so that you know exactly what you need to do.

Deadline: November 1st.   The following materials must be turned in to Ms. Gusmão by November 1st   if your application deadline is between December 1st and February 1st. There will be no guarantee that the letters will be written if any materials are submitted after November 1st .

• Before you request a letter from Ms. Gusmão or any other teacher make sure that the college to which you are applying requires a letter of recommendation.    UC and CSU do not require recommendations for admission.   Some competitive UC scholarships do require recommendations.  Many competitive private colleges and scholarships require recommendations.


• If you are going to request a recommendation and/or a Secondary School report from Ms. Gusmão teachers and/or your counselor, complete the following steps before November 1st.  See instructions below for teacher recommendations.
